3 cups sweetened coconut flakes
1/2 cup sugar
4 large egg whites
3 tbsp all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp almond extract
HOW TO PREPARE MACAROONS
Preheat oven to 325 deg F.
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Stir until well combined.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons, 1 inch apart, on prepared cookie sheets.
Bake until set and lightly golden, about 25 minutes.
Cool cookies on cookie sheets for 1 minute.
Transfer cookies to racks to cool completely.
I prepared regular and chocolate macaroons
After combining all the recipes together, divide the mixture in two.
Stir 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder and grated 1/2 square (.5 ounce) semisweet baking chocolate into the other mixture.
