INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups glutinous rice flour 
  • 1 pack (115 grams) purple yam powder
  • 1 1/4 cups water



  • grated coconut
  • margarine or butter
  • brown sugar 
  




HOW TO MAKE PUTO BUMBONG:
  • Prepare steamer with enough water for steaming.
  • In a large bowl, combine purple yam powder and glutinous rice flour.
  • Mix together until well combined.
  • Gradually add the water to make a dough. 
  • Knead until smooth.
  • Using your hands make a ball and roll into long shape, about 4-5 inches long.
  • Spread margarine or butter in a heat proof plate and layer the dough.
  • Steam for 5 minutes or until done.
  • Brush some margarine or butter then roll in shredded coconut and serve with brown sugar.
