This article was from a magazine compliments of Boys Town and 2018 Old Farmer's Almanac/Almanac.com. I am proud to say that part of our income from this website are regularly donated to Boys Town Foundation.
Additional remedies below came straight from their readers and I am happy to share this with you as well.
  • Put a cup full of apple cider vinegar and 3 shakes each of cayenne pepper and black pepper into a cup of warm, salted water. Gargle as mainly times as needed. This remedy is said to change the pH balance in your throat.
  • For a particularly scratchy throat, take one tablespoon of concentrated lemon juice followed immediately by a tablespoon of honey just before bed, which will usually soothe your throat until morning.

Honey Note:
The American Academy of Pediatrics cautions parent of children under the age of 12 months. Their underdeveloped immune systems leave them vulnerable to botulism, a serious form of food poisoning. Dirt and dust containing botulism bacteria spores can creep into honey and wreak havoc on little tummies. Best to steer clear until their first birthday.
