Cinnamon Cake

​INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 cups flour,sifted
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
​
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
​
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup sour cream (room temperature)​

  • 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
​

HOW TO PREPARE CINNAMON CAKE:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Butter or grease and flour a 9-inch tube/bundt pan.
  • Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together and set aside.
  • In a small bowl mix cinnamon, brown sugar and nuts. Set aside.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and add the vanilla.
  • Fold in the flour mixture and sour cream alternately, ending with the flour. The batter will be thick.
  • Spread half the batter in the prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle on half the cinnamon-sugar mixture.​​
  • Pour on the remaining batter and smooth it with a rubber spatula.
  • Cover with the remaining cinnamon mixture and dribble on the melted butter.
  • Bake for 25-35 minutes or until a tester inserted in the cake comes out clean. 
  • Cool the cake on a rack for 30 minutes. Run a knife around the edges to free the cake, invert it on a plate,then turn it right side up. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
  • Serve and Enjoy!
