Chocolate Chip Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 stick or 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

HOW TO PREPARE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  • Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy.
  • Add eggs, beat well. 
  • Gradually add flour mixture, beating well.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
  • Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans or cookie sheet.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes or lightly browned.
  • Cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
  • Cool completely.
  • Enjoy!
