Sweet & Sour Meatballs

INGREDIENTS:
  • 20 pieces meatballs***
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, quartered
  • 1/2 cup carrot, sliced or cut into strips
  • 1/4 cup banana ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice or (use the juice from the pineapple chunks
  • 3/4 -  1 cup pineapple chunks
  • small green bell pepper, cut into strips
  • small red bell pepper, cut into strips 

*** Ready made meatballs (frozen) are available in the market or if you prefer you can make it from scratch.

​HOW TO COOK SWEET & SOUR MEATBALLS:
  • Combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, ketchup, water and salt. Set aside.
  • Heat cooking oil in a pan or wok. Saute garlic & onion.
  • Add pineapple chunks, carrots and bell pepper.
  • Add the prepared sauce. Let it boil.
  • Pour-in the dissolve cornstarch. Simmer until the sauce gets thick.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Ladle the sauce over the meatballs or add the meatballs into the sauce like I did then remove from heat.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Enjoy!
