Juicing is one of the healthiest ways to quench your thirst! Yes, I know that not everyone is a fan of vegetables. If you're not, then this is a great way to put it in your body. The good thing about juicing is that it is very flexible when it comes to vegetable combinations.

Yes, there are recipes out there but those are just guides. It will still up to you what you think will suit your taste. To tell you honestly, I initially thought that juicing is hard to make as I had no idea how to squeeze the juice out of the vegetables if I do not have a juicer.  But there's a simple way.

Some really do not have a budget for a juicer but if you have a blender, you can make green juices right from our own kitchen. Yes, just blend the vegetables you like then place the blended veggies onto a bowl lined with a tea towel, cheese cloth or a clean shirt that you do not use will work fine as well.

Just squeeze the juice out and voila! You have healthy refreshing drinks right in our own home. No need to buy those expensive juice in store! I used the guide I saw online and just made my own combinations based on that guide. Let me give the list below and I will tell you and which ones I used to make these juices.

GREEN JUICING GUIDE

BASE:
  • Cucumber
  • Celery
  • Cantaloupe
  • Honeydew
  • Melon
GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES:
  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Collard Greens
CITRUS:
  • Orange
  • Lemon /  Lime
  • Tangerines
  • Grapefruit
  • Pineapple
SWEET COMPONENT:
  • Apple
  • Pear
  • Carrot
  • Beets
FLAVOR BURST:
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric
  • Mint
  • Parsely

The above list is a guide, but you can combine whichever you like or what you have available in your refrigerator. You can also use broccoli if you're a fan. A video below will give you an idea how I prepared it.

Procedure:
  • What I did was combined 1 piece lemon (skin removed), 1 green apple, 1/2 of medium cucumber, thumb size ginger (skin removed), 4 stalks celery and a small amount of water about 1/2 cup. Blend on high speed for about one minute. Then I added about 4 cups Spinach and continued blending for another one minute.
  • Pass through a sieve with cloth. Tightly squeeze all the juices out of the mixture.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • The 2nd mixture I prepared was 1 orange (skin removed), 1 green apple, thumb size ginger (skin removed, 1/2 cucumber, 4 stalks celery, about 4 cups kale. For this one I did not add any water as I added an extra orange.
  • The 3rd juice was a combination of 1 orange, 1/2 cucumber, 4 stalks, celery, 1 lemon, thumb size ginger, 2 small carrots and Kale.  I added an extra water for this one.
  • These are best consumed the day you made them or up to 3 days for freshness. Using tight lids for your glass containers are highly suggested to prolong the life of your juices. Store them in your refrigerator.
