PINOY TAMALES or BUBUTO (in Bataan) is a steamed delicacy made with a mixture of rice flour, coconut milk, water and ground peanuts or peanut butter topped with shrimp and slices of salted eggs and wrapped in banana leaves. My first try was not a success. The white part is too hard (too much rice flour) and I topped it with slices of chicken breast and hard boiled eggs. I actually threw it away. I modified the recipe and was happy with the result! Shrimp and salted eggs as toppings really made it tasted like TAMALES or BUBUTO in Bataan and the white part is more gelatinous. TRY MY RECIPE!
