Siopao Sauce

If you are looking for Siopao sauce, well you're here and you just found it. Super easy to make and delicious! Perfect for Asado Siopao. Just simple ingredients you may have available in your kitchen.

Siopao Asado Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:
  • ​1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch or cassava flour
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 6-7 tbsp sugar, adjust accordingly
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 star anise

Procedure:
  • On a medium bowl, stir together cornstarch and water. 
  • Add soy sauce and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Using a medium sauce pan, turn on heat to medium-low.
  • When hot enough, add vinegar and cook for about 20 seconds.
  • Add the sauce. Bring the heat to low and bring the sauce to a light boil.
  • Add star anise. Stir constantly and cook until sauce is thick.
  • Serve with Siopao Asado. 
  • Enjoy.

Hello! In your procedure you wrote “bring the sauce to a light bowl”, how do you mean by this? Thank you!

I just made it today. Sarap po thumbs up. How many days po pala ang shelf life ng sauce? And needed po ba iref kung iistore?thanks in advance.

Happy to know that you like this recipe. It needs to be refrigerated. Reheat lang if needed.

I made it! Perfect! Everybody loved the taste! So, simple ingredients yet so delicious! Especially when blended already with the siopao. Totally different from all the other recipes I tried before. Thank you for sharing your very own siopao sauce recipe. From now on this will be the only siopao sauce recipe I am going to follow every time we need to home cook.
