Buko Salad is one of the famous traditional refreshing Filipino holiday dessert.

​Young strips of coconut is the main ingredient with mixed fruits, nata de coco (coconut gel), Kaong (sugar palm), cream and condensed milk. 

This creamy dessert is a crowd pleaser. Perfect for every parties or any occasions. Easy to make and delicious!

buko salad recipe

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2- 3 cups fresh shredded coconut  or 3 (16 oz) package frozen shredded coconut, thawed
  • 1 can (14 oz) condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) nestle cream
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) kaong (sugar palm fruit in syrup), drained
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) nata de coco ( coconut gel)
  • 1 can (20 oz) fruit cocktail 
  • 1 can (15 oz ) pineapple tidbits
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (cubed)

Procedure:
  • ​Drain fruit cocktail, kaong, pineapple, nata de coco and shredded coconut in a strainer. (I drained coconut because I used the frozen one).
  • Combine all ingredients in a big bowl. Mix until fully incorporated. 
  • Chill for 4 hours or more.
  • Enjoy!
  • (Place in the freezer if it's not going to be served right away.)
