EASY CHICKEN SESAME

Sticky, sweet and savory chicken dish with sesame seeds. This Sesame Chicken recipe is another great dish you can serve your family. Simple and delicious with ingredients that are commonly found in your kitchen. It is very easy to prepare as well. A meal you can serve and be done in no time. 
On this recipe, I used the chicken meat that's available in my fridge which is chicken thigh meat. But you can definitely use chicken breast or chicken leg meat if you like. I just love the chicken or leg thigh meat because of the extra fat and it doesn't make the chicken pieces dry.

What I did was. I sliced the chicken meat diagonally, serving portions like one bite size. I marinated it with soy sauce, sesame oil, egg white and garlic for about 15 minutes then tossed the flour with it until fully coated. Heat up some oil and pan-fried until cooked through, crispy and golden. Set them aside. In a wok, I combined water, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar then let it boil for few minutes and added the cornstarch slurry. Stir until it thickened then tossed the fried pieces until fully coated with sauce then garnish with sesame seeds. Easy isn't it?  Try it. It's really delicious!

SESAME CHICKEN RECIPE

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lbs chicken meat (breast, thigh,  or leg) sliced diagonally
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 large egg  white
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • sesame seeds for garnish
Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp water, divided
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 4 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Procedure:
  • ​​In a large bowl. mix together chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, egg white and grated garlic. Marinate for 10-15 minutes. Add flour and toss to combine until chicken meat is fully coated. 
  • Fill a deep pan with vegetable oil. Fry the breaded chicken until cooked through, crisp and golden. Set aside.
  • In a wok, stir together 1/2 cup water, vinegar, sugar and soy sauce. Turn heat on medium and let simmer for about 1-2 minutes. Do not stir. 
  • While simmering, dissolve cornstarch in 2 tbsp water. Lower heat then add the dissolve cornstarch.  Stir constantly and continue simmering until sauce is thick. 
  • Add the fried chicken pieces and toss with the sauce until fully incorporated.  Add the sesame seeds. 
  • Serve immediately and garnish with more sesame seeds if desired.
  • Enjoy.
