Filipino Sweet Spaghetti

4/18/2020

This Spaghetti recipe is Filipino style. Traditionally made with sweet spaghetti sauce, banana sauce, ground meat and red hot dogs. Filipino Spaghetti is sweet and flavorful. Sauce is thick and loaded with meat topped with shredded cheddar cheese.
If you are not Filipino, you are probably wondering what is Banana Sauce? Banana Sauce is also called ketchup by many Filipinos. Not like the regular ketchup made from tomatoes, this was made from banana and other ingredients with added food color. So this sauce is not sour but instead it is lightly sweetened.

Red hot dogs are the hot dogs Filipinos grew up eating. If you are in another country, Filipino grocery stores may carry it depending on your location. Here in California, I was lucky enough to live just 3 miles away from Seafood City. Easy for me to include this with my spaghetti. If you can't find it, feel free to replace with spam or ham or omit if desired. As long as you have a lot of meat your spaghetti will taste great. For the sauce, I used 3 cups of UFC Spaghetti Sauce and  3 cups UFC banana sauce. The combination of these two makes a great spaghetti sauce.
