Siomai as we call it in the Philippines but Siumai in other parts of Asia. It doesn't matter how it's being spelled. What matters is that, it is simple, easy to make, delicious and you can make it right in your own kitchen.
For some, wrapping is challenging but it is actually not. You can make it fancy like this photo below or you can place the filling in the middle of the wrapper, place the wrapper with meat in between your thumb and index finger (like holding a cone) and press the meat with a spoon until you get the right shape. Watch my video below how it is being wrapped so you can get an idea. Watch me how I prepared and wrapped siomai
To enjoy your siomai, a delicious homemade sauce is a must have. What I make is a combination of 2 parts soy sauce and 1 part lemon. Then I add crunchy chili garlic from a bottle that my mom bought for me from the Philippines.
