This recipe for Brownies are super easy to make. It is chewy and gooey on the inside, crackly on top and loaded with nuts. Peanuts were used but you can use any nuts you prefer or you can also remove the nuts if you are  not a fan of it.

chewy brownies recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp water​
  • 3/4 cup nuts of your choice

​Procedure:
  • Preheat oven to 350 F and grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour,  sugar, unsweetened cocoa, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat eggs, vanilla extract, butter and water.
  • Add the flour mixture. Beat util well combined.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Transfer mixture into the prepared baking pan. Smooth the top into an even layer.
  • Add more nuts on top if desired.
  • Bake  for 18-22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Please check before the set time. Do not over bake.
  • Cool completely in pan on wire rack before cutting into bars.
  • Serve and enjoy :)

Can i substitute 3/4 cup butter into oil?

I haven't tried substituting oil when making brownies but I believe you can. It's just that butter tastes better than oil.
