rocky road ice cream using milo powder

This no-churn Rocky Road ice cream is rich in flavor, so creamy and delicious! Better than store-bought and no need for an ice cream maker. Made with heavy cream, condensed milk and Milo chocolate powder mixed with of course peanuts, marshmallows and chocolate chips.

Yes you read it right. I used Milo, the chocolate powder I grew up drinking.  Using this gem is better than the cocoa powder because it has no bitter taste due to its' strong chocolate flavor. Milo has a light milk chocolate flavor and is perfect with this ice cream.

​For this ice cream, I took it easy on condensed milk because Milo chocolate powder has some sugar on it and I also added chocolate chips so adjust the condensed milk according to your preference. Also you can add more marshmallows, peanuts and chocolate chips as you like.

rocky road ice cream recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream (all purpose cream can be substituted)
  • 1/3 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup Milo chocolate powder  
  • 1/2  cup marshmallows
  • 1/2  cup peanuts
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Procedure:
  • Beat the heavy whipping cream until thick, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the condensed milk. Beat until just combined. 
  • Add the milo chocolate powder. Continue beating until mixture is fully combined.
  • Stir-in marshmallows, peanuts and chocolate chips. 
  • Pour the ice cream mixture into a standard loaf pan, cover with plastic food wrap and press against the ice cream.
  • Freeze until completely firm, about 6 hours or overnight. 
  • Serve and enjoy.
