Korean Beef bowl

This Korean Beef Bowl is another easy dish recipe you can prepare for your family. So simple yet so flavorful especially when served over a bowl of hot rice, vegetables and fried egg. Top it with some green onions and sesame seeds. The best! 
​Here, I served one bowl with carrots and cucumber and the other with fried egg. The sauce on the beef is just perfect with it.
​Another quick and easy recipe that's ready in less than 30 minutes.

​Ingredients for Sauce:
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil​​
For Beef Bowls:
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tsp ginger, finely chopped
  • cucumber, sliced
  • matchstick carrots
  • green onions, sliced
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • Freshly cooked rice
  • fried egg for topping

Procedure:
  • In a small bowl,  whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, chili garlic sauce and sesame oil. Set aside.
  • Place a large pan over medium high heat on the stove.
  • Saute' garlic and ginger. Cook until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef and brown, breaking the meat up as it cooks until no longer pink. Do not overcook.
  • Pour the sauce over the meat and bring to a simmer, about 3-4 minutes. 
  • Stir some green onions and top with sesame seeds. Cook for an additional 1 minute.
  • Add rice to a bowl, top with Korean ground beef, then an fried egg or carrots and cucumber. 
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Recipe Notes:
  • I used Kikkoman Soy Sauce for this recipe. I am telling you this because different brands vary. Some are salty than others. Kikkoman has this aroma but a little lighter in taste. 
  • Substitute lemon juice for rice vinegar if not available but I suggest to have this in your pantry as it as another useful ingredient when making Chinese food. 
  • Use Sriracha sauce to substitute for chili garlic sauce. It can be adjusted or totally omitted if desired.
