Love soup? Try this One-pot Pork and Napa Cabbage Soup recipe.  It takes no effort to make it. Simple yet very tasty and really hearty. A comfort food in a bowl that fits every budget.

This recipe can serve as a guide. If you don't eat pork, you can replace the meat with ground beef, turkey or chicken if you like. You can also add carrots. I made it simple and easy but you can make your own version out of this recipe. ​

What inspired me to make this recipe? I made Pancit Lomi and used a small amount of cabbage. And you know when buying cabbage, you have to buy the whole thing. Since they are sitting in the fridge, I thought of making soup and added the leftover parsley from the Chicken Alfredo I made last week. pork and napa cabbage recipe

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 lb ground pork
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 piece pork cube
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 small napa cabbage, sliced about 4-5 cups
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Procedure:
  • Heat about 2 tbsp cooking oil in a deep pan or wok.
  • Saute' garlic and cook until fragrant.
  • Add onion. Cook until onion is soft and translucent.
  • Add pork. Saute with the garlic and onion. Cook until pork turns light brown or no longer pink. Stir occasionally and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add water. Lightly stir and bring to a boil.
  • Add pork cube and soy sauce. Stir to combine and continue simmering.
  • Add cabbage. Cook for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add parsley and green onions. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Season with additional salt and pepper if desired. 
  • Serve and enjoy.​
  • Makes about 4-6 servings.
