If you have been looking for a cake that is super moist and delicious cake from scratch, well this is it!  With creamy frosting that you can drizzle on top of the chocolate cake is divine. Perfect for chocolate lovers out there!  Found this recipe from Hershey's and I just tweaked the cake a little bit and made the frosting recipe shared by my niece.
Picture

For this recipe, I made 2loaf pans of chocolate cakes. You can also use this recipe if you would like to make Chocolate Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting. Less time in the oven and can yield 24 pieces. You can also use the other loaf pan to make Choco Butternut Cake.

Hi. Cake was superb but my frosting turned out to a bit thin and flowy. Can u tell me how can i thicken it more?

It shouldn't be that flowy. I hope you have watched the video and saw the consistency. You need to give more time to make it more thicker or add more cornstarch if you like.

I had the same problem. Cooked on low heat for a long time and it never thickened. Even tried higher heat but didn’t help. Ended up just adding powdered sugar until it was a good consistency for me.

The technique I can share with you is just to remember that 1/4 cup is equal to 4 tbsp. That way it will be easier for you to halve the recipe. I hope this helps.

how to store for longer?will it remain moist when kept in the fridge?

Reply

Cake requires refrigeration and does have expiration. This recipe doesn't have other ingredients like commercial ones use for it to stay longer. I always suggest to consume up to 3 days If a homemade cake stays longer in the fridge of course it will lose it's moisture. You can always thaw the cake before eating.

Fresh milk is fine just take note that evaporated milk has half less water than fresh milk. Meaning it is a little thicker than fresh milk.

Oh my... I haven't even finished putting this together and my family is going crazy over it. I had cut off the crown of the cake and we ate that, dipped in frosting. Needless to say everyone wants to know when it'll be ready. I used Special Dark cocoa powder and it think it just amped it up. I did have to add a tsp of cornstarch to the frosting to get it to thicken, or maybe it was my impatience. But it came out great. Thank for such a delicious recipe. This is a keeper.

One thing that I love to also learn is on how I can design my frosting. This is really challenging even if I have few tools for this. I hope that you can share a video on how you do it on one of your cake creations. Btw, my daughter loves the cake you made with the Minnie mouse design! 😍 She kept on asking me to do one for her. 😅

Finally, I was able to make it and the result was so good. So yummy. My husband loved it! 🙂

Then my mother requested to make her a cake on her birthday but not choco.
She loves ube cake.

Hope I can find an ube cake recipe in your website.

Thank you so much Ms. Janette for the recipe you shared.

This cake looks so good! If I wanted to make this cake into cupcakes how long would I bake them for?

Hi Jennifer, I apologize for the late response. Evaporated milk has half less water than fresh milk so it might have a slight effect on the consistency unless you make some adjustments.

the cake looks good and i would make it in 9 x 13 pan and put peanut butter frosting on it or just a chocolate frosting but using the stove.

Hi

For your Super Moist Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting, for the frosting, can I use fresh milk instead of evaporated milk? Look forward to your reply. Thanks very much.

Kind regards

Hi Jennifer, Evaporated milk has half less water than fresh milk so if you will use fresh milk I suggest to lessen the quantity

Easy recipe and followed exact instructions, however the frosting is extremely runny.
